Often in pure mats or mixed with Sciuro-hypnum reflexum, Sanionia uncinata, Dicranum fuscescens, D. montanum, Pohlia nutans, Plagiothecium spp., Lophocolea heterophylla, Lepidozia reptans, Ptilidium pulcherrimum .
