Type:—[RUSSIA] the Altai, Biisk District, in the vicinity of the village of Srostki, 11 Jul 1983, A. Krasnikov (NS, holotype, currently missing); the holotype proved to be triploid, with 2n=24 (Krasnikov, loc. cit.) .
Main diagnostic features that can be derived from the description and the figure include relatively large, 4–5 mm long (including cone), red-brown achenes, relatively short outer phyllaries, and leaves with a relatively simple shape pattern.
