Oxypoda opaca is a widespread Palaearctic species previously recorded in North America in the United States from North and South Carolina, New York, and Vermont (Hoebeke 1989). It was first recorded in Canada from Ontario and Nova Scotia (Klimaszewski et al. 2006). Th is species is here newly recorded from British Columbia.
