Comments. First record of this genus for Colombia. This genus has been recorded for Guatemala, Belize, Costa Rica, Panama, Brazil and Argentina (Kirkaldy 1909). The species Peromatus notatus (Burmeister) and P. truncates Distant are recorded from Central America, including Panama (Froeschner 1999), while P. va l i d us is recorded to northern Brazil. A revision of the New World species of the genus is needed to determine if the studied specimen is an undescribed species or not.
