The syntypes of atra ^HNS have no more precise locality data than "Mexico," but are by two different collectors, Bilimek and Norton. The Norton series, from which the lectotype is chosen, has the general shape and pilosity characters of crinosa ^HNS, the only difference being that the face is completely covered with fine, dense striae, with no smooth or shiny areas.
