General distribution. Described from Costa Rica (Prov. Limon: Amubri) (Brailovsky & Barrera 1997, Packauskas 2010).
Discussion. This attractive species is recognized by having abdominal segments III–VI black except for a yellow square on each side of the midline on each tergite; pronotum yellowish-orange with thin black stripe laterally and a broad black stripe on either side of midline, both stripes united by a transverse posterior black stripe on each side of the midline, nearly reaching the midline, black stripes tinged with metallic bluish green reflections; pro-, meso-, and metapleura, and abdominal sterna yellow, scattered with black dots (Fig. 14); hind tibia with outer expansion short, occupying 46 % of the total length of hind tibiae in males and 61 % in females and inner expansion occupying 44 % of the total length of hind tibia in males and 45 % in females; maximum width of outer expansion of hind tibiae 1.20 in males and 1.34 in females; maximum width of inner expansion of hind tibiae 0.45 in males and 0. 57 in females (Fig. 19).
