Microphotina vitripennis (Saussure, 1872)

– Originally described under Cardioptera Burmeister, 1838 . Type locality in French Guiana, with additional records from that country in François & Roy (2015). Presumably the most widespread member of Microphotina, also reported from Venezuela (Cerdá 1997) and Brazil (Terra 1995; Dantas et al. 2008). However, Venezuelan and Brazilian records require corroboration.
