Diagnosis. Body parallel-sized and moderately large (16–19 mm). Head: wider than long, subquadrate, shorter than pronotum, porrect, and produced forward between bases of antennae; tylus and juga below the level of the antenniferous tubercles; tylus blunt, forming a rounded elevated ridge, slightly projecting beyond juga; juga unarmed, and thickened; antenniferous tubercle unarmed; antennal segments I–III cylindrical, IV fusiform; antennal segment I slightly curving; antennal segment II the longest, III the shortest and IV longer or shorter than I; preocellar pit circular and deep; ocellar tubercle raised; eyes hemispherical; postocular tubercle indistinct, nearly smooth with outline of eye; buccula short, not extending beyond antenniferous tubercle, and without teeth; labium reaching middle third of abdominal sternite III or posterior border of abdominal sternite IV. Thorax. Pronotum: wider than long, trapeziform, declivent, nontuberculate; collar wide; anterolateral borders obliquely straight, and entire; posterolateral borders sinuate and entire; posterior border almost straight and entire; triangular process absent; calli barely raised, impunctate; humeral angles narrow or stout, directed laterally or directed backward. Legs: femora ventrally armed with only two subapical spines (subgenus Anisoscelis) or ventrally armed with two subapical spines and one row of acute spines extending along the total length (subgenus Bitta); hind tibiae foliaceous, expanded; inner expansion shorter than outer one; outer expansion reaching the apex of the tibiae (subgenus Anisoscelis) or shorter and not reaching the apex (subgenus Bitta). Scutellum: triangular, longer than wide, flat; apex subacute. Hemelytra: macropterous, extending beyond the apex of abdomen. Abdomen: posterior angle of each connexival segment unarmed, without short spine. Male genital capsule: posteroventral edge almost with a U-shaped notch medially (subgenus Bitta) or with a medial process (subgenus Anisoscelis); lateral angles barely sinuate. Paramere: curved, simple, elongated, apically bifurcate, with inner lobe broad and shorter, and outer lobe more slender (Figs. 1–12).
