Pyralis lunana Fabricius, 1798: 478 (non Fabricius, 1794: 243).

Type locality. Switzerland (“Habitat in Heluetia Dom. de Clairville”).

Material examined. None.

Identity. Phtheochroa rugosana (Hübner, 1799) ( Tortricinae, Cochylini).

Remarks. This species is a synonym of P. rugosana according to Werneburg (1864). However, the name is a junior primary homonym of Pyralis lunana Fabricius, 1794, an erebid moth currently in the genus Eublemma (see Appendix 1).
