Type locality: Rohr 14005A (Loc. 1), Todd Road, north basin, Trinidad (GN 10°28’52” N, 61°20’00” W). Holotype, right valve (♀)—USNM, 684068.
In Venezuela: at the following locality according to Bold (1964): ARAGUA and CARABOBO States—no location details, Lago de Valencia (GN 10º10’46” N, 67º43’52” W) .
Remarks: this species is widely distributed throughout the Americas (Meisch et al. 2019). The geographical distribution of C. salebrosa includes Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela (Martens et al. 1998; Martens & Behen 1994), Dominican Republic, Gulf of Mexico, Trinidad, Tobago, and the United States (Kansas, Central Missouri, and Florida) (Meyer et al. 2017). The record for Venezuela comes from material recovered from recent sediments (Bold 1964). No record of C. salebrosa hartmanni (Ramirez 1967) Ornellas & W̧rdig 1983, as considered from Martens & Behen (1994), is known for Venezuela.
