Univ. 2: 203, s. 2, t. 24, central figure. 1680. - Epitype (Podlech in Turland & Jarvis in Taxon 46: 464. 1997): Algeria. Hauts plateaux oranais env. de Bedeau Broussailles, 1,100m, 30 May 1925, A. Faure s.n. (BM).

Current name: Astragalus caprinus L. subsp. caprinus ( Fabaceae: Faboideae).

Note: Podlech (in Mitt. Bot. Staatssamml. München 25: 135. 1988) designated as lectotype Linnaeus’ diagnosis from the protologue but this is not an acceptable choice (Art. 8.1). He also reproduced (as Abb. 9) the Morison illustration that he later designated as lectotype.
