Generitype of Aegopricum Linnaeus, Pl. Surinamensis: 15. 1775.

Current name: Maprounea guianensis Aubl. ( Euphorbiaceae).

Note: Believing there to be no extant original material, Radcliffe-Smith (in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 15. 1993) designated Hostmann 996 [ “966”] ex Herb. Bentham (K) as a neotype. However, Esser has located Dahlberg material in UPS, which is original material for the name, and designates it as a lectotype in place of Radcliffe-Smith’s neotype.
