Lectotype (Scholz in Cafferty & al. in Taxon 49: 247. 2000): Herb. Linn. No. 43.19 (S) .

Current name: Gaudinia fragilis (L.) P. Beauv. ( Poaceae).

Note: Although Kerguélen (in Lejeunia, n.s., 75: 184. 1975) stated "Type: …LINN”, this is not accepted as a formal typification, for the reasons explained by Cafferty & al. (in Taxon 49: 240. 2000). Sherif & Siddiqi (in El-Gadi, Fl. Libya 145: 156. 1988) indicated Herb. Linn. 95.16 (LINN) as type. However, this sheet is a post-1753 addition to the herbarium, and was therefore rejected by Scholz in favour of a Löfling collection in S, annotated by Linnaeus.
