Current name: Carduus personata (L.) Jacq. ( Asteraceae).

Note: Duistermaat (in Gorteria, suppl., 3: 128. 1996) incorrectly indicated 964.2 (as 946.2) LINN as “type” . However, the sheet is annotated only by Linnaeus filius and is not original material for the name. Furthermore, a syntype (Herb. Burser XXI: 13, UPS) exists and takes precedence over any original material (Art. 9.10).
