Achillea nobilis Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 899. 1753.
"Habitat in Helvetia, Misnia, Bohemia, G. Narbonensi, Tataria." RCN: 6507.
Lectotype (Thornton-Wood in Jarvis & Turland in Taxon 47: 351. 1998): Herb. Burser VII(1): 3 (UPS) .
Current name: Achillea nobilis L. ( Asteraceae).
Note: Dabrowska (in Acta Univ. Wratislav., Prace Bot. 24: plate VI. 1982) both illustrated 1017.23 (LINN), and indicated it as type. However, the sheet lacks the Species Plantarum number (i.e. “15”) and is a post-1753 addition to the collection, and not original material for the name. Aware of this, Thornton-Wood subsequently designated Burser material as lectotype.
