bondari Hood, 1941

Described from Brazil, this yellow species is recorded from Mexico, Cuba, and south eastern USA (Florida, Georgia, Hawaii). Apparently specific to Polianthes (Agavaceae), the head is prolonged in front of the eyes as in other Frankliniella species that live on Poaceae (Nakahara 1992) . The head also lacks postocular setae I and metanotal campaniform sensilla are absent. Two synonyms of this species, alba and bratleyi, were described based on macropterous and brachypterous forms in Mexico and USA.
