Genus Liogluta Thomson, 1858
Liogluta Thomson, 1858: 35 (Type species: Homalota umbonata Erichson, 1839 = Aleochara longiuscula Gravenhorst, 1802). Hypnota Mulsant & Rey, 1873b: 591 (Type species: Homalota pagana Erichson, 1839).
Pseudomegista Bernhauer, 1907: 390 (Type species: Atheta nigropolita Bernhauer, 1907).
Diagnosis. Adults of the genus Liogluta can be distinguished from other athetine genera by combination of the following characters: body length usually more than 3.5 mm; antennomeres not distinctly transverse; α-sensillum of epipharynx long and setaceous; mandible convergent apically; prementum without lateral pseudopores; twin pores of labial palpomere 1 not small; pronotum less than 1.3 times as wide as long, pubescence directed posteriorly in midline; metatarsomeres 1–4 subequal in length; abdominal tergite VI not impressed in basal region (Benick & Lohse, 1974; Yosii & Sawada, 1976; Sawada, 1984).
