Distribution. This West Palearctic species is endemic in the Maghreb (Morse 2021; Neu et al. 2018). It has been reported from the Aures region in Algeria by Dambri et al. (2020), in Morocco by El Alami & Dakki (1998) and Hajji et al. (2013) and in Tunisia by Malicky & Lounaci (1987). In our study, this species was collected from a single site at 916 m a.s.l. where it shared the habitat with its congener S. argentipunctellus .
