Ochthebius (Asiobates) minimus (Fabricius, 1792)

The species was recorded in Egypt by Orchymont (1927), Alfieri (1976), Hansen (1998) with doubts and Kasapoglu & Erman (2002). According to Boukal et al. (2008) O. minimus is chiefly European species, widely distributed from Spain and the British Isles to Russia, rare in the south, also known from northern Turkey (Jäch 2004) and with doubtful records from Egypt (Hansen 1998). The previous records of this species in Egypt need confirmation.
