Ochthebius (Ochthebius) punctatus Stephens, 1829

The species was recorded in Sinai by Peyerimhoff (1907), Orchymont (1927) and Alfieri (1976) and it is very common (Peyerimhoff 1907). The distribution of this species is restricted to Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco (Hansen 1998; Jäch 2004) and the previous records in Egypt need confirmation (Hansen 1998).
