TYPE LOCALITY: Mount Moses (Djebel Musa), southern Sinai (Egypt) .
HOLOTYPE: NMW, designated by Jäch (1993:150).

REMARKS: Limnebius fontinalis Balfour-Browne, 1951 was recorded in Sinai by Alfieri (1957, 1976). According to Jäch (1993) it is an Afrotropical species and their presence is restricted to Saudi Arabia (South) and Yemen (Hansen 1998). Limnebius sanctimontis Jäch, 1993, which is externally very similar to Limnebius fontinalis, occurs in the Sinai Peninsula (Jäch 1993).
