Type Locality: Peru, Rio Marañon, Pongo de Rentema.

Vernacular Names: Green Acouchi.

Synonyms: Myoprocta archidonae Lönnberg 1925; Myoprocta caymanum Thomas 1926; Myoprocta limanus Thomas 1920; Myoprocta milleri Allen 1913; Myoprocta parva Lönnberg 1921; Myoprocta puralis Thomas 1926 .

Distribution: S Venezuela (headwaters of the Orinoco), E Colombia, E Ecuador, N Peru, W Brazil.

Conservation: Unknown.

Discussion: Voss et al. (2001) concluded the green acouchies exhibit substantial geographic variation and may represent a complex of closely related species. We have followed Voss et al. (2001) in provisionally recognizing the green acouchies as M. pratti pending further revision.
