Genus Paracalamoncosis Riccardi & Bazyar, gen. nov.
Type-species. Paracalamoncosis brasiliensis RiCCardi & Bazyar sp. nov., here designated.
Description. Body ground color yellow; eyes hairy; head chaetotaxy reduced with just postverticals and interfrontals longer, ocellars reclinate, postocellars convergent, several fronto-orbital and frontal setae; facial carina complete and narrow; ocellar triangle pruinose, extending to half length of frons, with irregular patches inside; gena narrower than first flagellomere length with irregular rows of setulae and stout setae on vibrissa, vibrissal angle acute; first flagellomere as deep as long; arista short; proboscis short and narrow; scutellum long triangular bearing terminal setae on small tubercles; anepisternum pilose; tibial organ slender; male terminalia with the remnant of sternite 6; cerci long and not fused; epandrium rounded; surstylus long and rounded apically; hypandrium distinct with fused laterals forming a ring; pre- and postgonites fused, attached to hypandrium base; phallapodeme short; basiphallus four times longer than wide, cylindrical; distiphallus short and membranous.
Biology. Unknown.
Etymology. The genus name is based on the similarities with the genus Calamoncosis, and the additional prefix “ para ” derived from Greek, meaning similar.
