Type Locality: Solomon Isls, Bougainville Isl.

Vernacular Names: Bougainville Island Solomys.

Distribution: Recorded from the islands of Buka, Bougainville, and Choiseul in Solomon Arch.; sample from Buka Isl represented only by fossils (Flannery, 1995 b).

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (nt).

Discussion: Known by extant specimens and archaeological fragments (Flannery and Wickler, 1990). Reviewed by Flannery (1995 b).
