Pseudohydromys murinus Rümmler 1934, Z. Saugetierk., 9: 48.

Type Locality: Papua New Guinea, Morobe Province, Wau area, Mt. Missim, 7000 ft (2135 m).

Vernacular Names: Eastern New Guinea Shrew Mouse.

Distribution: Papua New Guinea; known only from several localities around the Wau area in the east and the vicinity of Mt. Wilhelm in the west (Laurie, 1952; Flannery, 1995 a).

Conservation: IUCN – Critically Endangered.
