Distribution.

Widespread in the Neotropics, from Mexico to Brazil and throughout the West Indies, and the Galápagos Islands.

Remarks.

This species was re-described and illustrated by Bickel and Sinclair (1997). Robinson (1975) treated this species as C. mexicanus .
