Material: 1 female, Playas, Guayas Province, 02º38.23’S 80º23.3’W, 0 5 March 2002, low water (Registration No. BMNH 2004.2915); 1 female, 1 male with eggs, Playas, 0 9 January 2002, low water (BMNH 2004.2916–2917); 2 males, 1 female, Playas, 29 July 2001, high water (BMNH 2004.2912–2914).

Remarks: Other specimens have been taken from Salinas, 02º11.67’S 80º58.85’W, and Cenaim, 01º57.62’S 80º43.72’W, both also in Guayas Province. Previous published records are from the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica (Isla Cocos, type locality), Panama & Mexico Pacific, littoral to shallow. It has not been recorded previously from Ecuador.

This species is armed with typical blunt spines on the first coxae and abdomen, but is without mid­trunk tubercles, and has comparatively short chelifora.
