Bombus cullumanus cullumanus (Kirby, 1802)
In the Iberian Peninsula, only six individuals of the nominal subspecies were known (Table 2) in locations from the Pyrenees and Navarra, between 1200 and 2300 m (Rasmont 1988; Ornosa & Ortiz-Sánchez 2004), resembling a small, fragmented and declining population (Rasmont et al. 2006, Ornosa & Ortiz-Sánchez 2011). Some historical Pyrenean records are uncertain. In recent Pyrenean samplings, it has been collected once at 1000 m (Fig. 7) in a forestal pasture on Sedum sediforme (Jacq.) Pau. The last previous records of this species included two individuals from 1982 (Ornosa & Ortiz-Sánchez 2011).
B. cullumanus cullumanus was assessed as Vulnerable in IUCN Spanish Red List (Ornosa & Ortiz-Sánchez 2011). It has an elevational tendency, and it is declining in the Pyrenees (Table 2, Fig. 2).
