Type material. Described from inexplicit number of syntypes. Type locality. “Borneo, Sandakan”. Type specimens. Lectotype ♂ (USNM): “Sandakan Borneo Baker [p] \ 12658 [h] \ TYPUS [p] [red label] \ Agrilus microtatus m. Type [h] Det. Dr Obenberger [p] \ TypeNo. [p] 57699 [h] U. S. N. M. [p] [red label] \ Agrilus microtatus Obenb. [h] [red label]”. Lectotype designated by Bellamy (1994). Secondary types: 1 PLT (USNM).
Distribution. Malaysia (Sabah, Sarawak).
Remarks. Agrilus microtatus is very close to A. oidema sp. nov. (see key to species), but it differs from it by not having the last ventrite impressed. The lectotype was examined but not dissected and therefore characters on of aedeagus are unknown.
