Eurygerris cariniventris (Champion, 1898)
This species ranges from central Mexico to Peru, including central and eastern Cuba, Haiti, and Puerto Rico in the Caribbean Sea (Champion 1898; Drake & Harris 1928c, 1933, 1934; Barber 1939; Kuitert 1942; Drake & Maldonado-Capriles 1954; Alayo 1967; Muñoz et al. 2010). It has been recorded from the Costa Rican provinces of San José, Cartago, and Heredia (Champion 1898, Torre-Bueno 1906), although we did not examine any specimens from the country. Costa Rican material identified as E. cariniventris deposited in the SEMC that we examined instead were representatives of E. summatis (Drake & Harris, 1934) .
