Current name: Tephrosia purpurea (L.) Pers. ( Fabaceae: Faboideae).

Note: Fawcett & Rendle (Fl. Jamaica 4: 19. 1920) indicated Herb. Hermann material (BM) as type. Although there is material in two separate volumes, it appears to have been part of a single gathering. Consequently, theirs is accepted as the first typification (Art. 9.15), with the choice subsequently restricted by Ali. Although Forbes (in Bothalia 4: 974. 1948) designated 924.7 (LINN) as the type, this choice is pre-dated by that of Fawcett & Rendle.
