Lectotype (Adamson in J. S. African Bot. 27: 127. 1961): [icon] " Alsine Lotoides Sicula " in Boccone, Icon. Descr. Rar. Pl. Siciliae: 21, 20, t. 11, f. 2 B. 1674 (see p. 109). - Typotype: Boccone s.n. (OXF).

Generitype of Glinus Linnaeus.

Current name: Glinus lotoides L. ( Molluginaceae).

Note: Jeffrey (in Hubbard & Milne-Redhead), Fl. Trop. E. Africa, Aizoaceae: 15 (1961) indicated a Boccone specimen at OXF as “typolectotype” . However, despite its links with Boccone’s illustration, the material would not have been seen by Linnaeus and is not original material for the name. It is treated here as typotype material.
