Toxotes jaculatrix (Pallas, 1767) —Banded archerfish

STATUS AT MADANG. First record from Madang as Toxotes jaculator by Parenti & Allen (1991: 318). CAS and WAM material.

DISTRIBUTION AND HABITAT. India east to Philippines and Solomon Islands, south to northern Australia and Vanuatu. Mainly found in brackish mangrove habitats, also entering the lower reaches of rivers and streams, 0– 2 m. Freshwater and transitional water.
