Wolongia renaria new species

Type material: Holotype: female, CHINA, Yunnan, Tengchong County, Jietou Township, Datang Village, Longtang He, Muguayuan, 25.75720°N, 98.69459°E, 2078 m, 16 May 2006, Xian-jin Peng, Xin-ping Wang and Peng Hu (HNU-Peng 060516 night).

Paratypes: 1 female, CHINA, Yunnan: Nujiang Prefecture, Gongshan County, Nujiang State Nature Reserve, Qiqi He, 9.9 air km W of Gongshan, 27.71542°N, 98.56529°E, 2000 m, 9-14 July 2000, Heng-mei Yan, David Kavanaugh, Charles Griswold, Hong-bin Liang, Darrell Ubick & Da-zhi Dong (HNU-00-QF-43).

Etymology. The specific name comes from the Latin adjective “ renaria ”, meaning “kidney-shaped”, and refers to the shape of spermatheca in posterior view.

Diagnosis. This species can be distinguished from other Wolongia species by the combination of the following characters: 1) spermatheca slightly sclerotized, kidney-shaped in posterior view (Figs 27 C, 28D); 2) fertilization duct with expanded terminal (Figs 27 D, 28C). This species is similar to W. bimacroseta n. sp., and the differences are discussed in the diagnosis of W. bimacroseta n. sp..

Description. Female (holotype): Total length 2.40. Cephalothorax 1.05 long, 0.90 wide. Abdomen 1.48 long, 1.03 wide. Carapace yellow-brown. AME=ALE=PME=PLE (0.08), AME-AME<AME-ALE (0.05<0.08), PME- PME=PME-PLE (0.08), LMOA 0.25, AWMOA 0.20, PWMOA 0.25. Clypeus 0.13. Chelicerae yellow-brown, with 5 retromarginal teeth (Figs 1 H, 28B). Labium brown, width 0.23, length 0.13. Coxae yellow-brown. Legs yellow-brown. Leg measurements: I 5.87 (1.69, 1.99, 1.50, 0.69), II 4.49 (1.30, 1.50, 1.13, 0.56), III 2.54 (0.86, 0.80, 0.50, 0.38), IV 4.07 (1.15, 1.11, 0.83, 0.40). Abdomen oval, widest medially. Dorsum yellow, with a brown longitudinal median stripe and five pairs of white diagonal stripe-shaped spots along the stripe (Fig. 27 A). Venter yellow-brown, with a large white square spot medially. Spermatheca slightly sclerotized, kidney-shaped in posterior view (Figs 27 C, 28D); fertilization duct with expanded terminal (Figs 27 D, 28C).

Male Unknown.

Variation. Females, total length 2.35–2.40 (n=2).
