Celtis mauritiana Planchon (1848: 307) .

Type: — AFRICA. Mauritius island, without date, fr., P. Commerson 710 (lectotype, designated here, P barcode 00562127!; isolectotype K barcode 000243045!) .

Nomenclatural notes: —When describing C. mauritiana, Planchon (1848) cited a Commerson s.n. gathering with specimens deposited in the herbaria of Hooker (located in K) and Lessert (located in P). Considering that there are two samples and that Planchon did not specify a holotype, we designate the specimen at Herb. P with barcode 00562127 as lectotype (ICN Art. 9.3), because it has a greater number of leaves than K barcode 000243045. In addition, we note that the specimen in P has the collector number. Considering that these two specimens were collected by the same person, we suggest that the specimen in Herb. K should also be identified by the collector number 710.

Taxonomic notes: —Synonym of C. wightii (Sattarian et al. 2006) .
