Type locality: Brazil, Pará: Santarém (MNHN).

Ozineus dubius Aurivillius, 1922: 170; Monné, 2005: 115 (cat.); Monné et al., 2012: 29 (distr.) syn. nov.

Described from Peru, Huanuco, Pozuzo. The comparison between the syntypes of O. cinerascens and photographs of the syntypes of O. dubius, deposited in NHRS, allows us to propose the synonymy.

Distributed in French Guiana, Brazil (Pará) and Peru, herein we add Bolivia to the distribution.
