Ploetzia Saalmüller, 1884

The genus Ploetzia was established by Saalmüller (1884) for the single species P. amygdalis (Mabille) . Amongst African Hesperiidae, this is one of very few species with gregarious caterpillars ( Pteroteinon laufella, below, is another), supporting its unique position.
