Pteroteinon Watson, 1893

Watson (1893) fixed P. laufella as the type species for this genus, when he established the genus Pteroteinon . There are ten species of this Afrotropical genus, which is restricted to West and central Africa (Larsen 2005, Vande weghe 2009). All reported food plants are palms, and P. laufella is a recognised minor pest in West Africa.
