Distribution in China. Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Taiwan, Yunnan (Hua 2002). The distribution is confined to the southern half of the country.

Other distribution. India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam (Liu & Beaver 2018).

Host plants. The species is strongly polyphagous. Beeson & Bhatia (1937) list many host species and describe the seasonal cycle of emergences from host wood.
