Barcoding.

Five identical barcodes were obtained from the specimens: CaBOL-IDs 1035885, 1035886, 1035908, 1035909, and 1035916 (BOLD:AFN3105). There are currently no barcodes for O. badhyzicus in BOLD Systems; we are submitting the first ones.

Remarks.

This species was described from Eastern Turkmenistan and is currently known to occur from Israel to Turkmenistan (WSC 2023). It is the first record of O. badhyzicus in the Caucasus. Oxyopes badhyzicus is closest to the co-occurring O. globifer Simon, 1876, from which males and females can be easily distinguished not only by the structure of copulatory organs but also by a rather delicate elongated abdomen and the pattern of carapace (broad dark margins and a light median longitudinal band in O. globifer; dark margins and two dark longitudinal bands extending from chelicerae to the eye field and the base of the carapace in O. badhyzicus).
