Recognition characters: Grayish brown species; length 7–10 mm; mystax straw white; thorax silvery gray pollinose laterally and brown pollinose dorsally; scutellum gray pollinose lacking bristles, few white marginal setae present; abdomen gray pollinose laterally and brown pollinose dorsally; legs yellow with only the apical fifth of hind tibiae brown.

Habitat: Grama-needlegrass-wheatgrass grassland vegetation type.
