Geographical distribution: United States in the Nearctic region to Argentina in the Neotropics. Material from Cuba: Pinar del Río, no date [material collected in some localities of the Province at different occasions] (ESI) (Alayo 1967, 1974).

Habitat: shore vegetation, crevices of fallen logs, or upon rocks along the edge of the water.
