The MHNG collection has four specimens collected by Bolívar, three of them long after the publication of the original description. The fourth was exchanged with the MHNG in 1879, is from one of the type localities and may be a syntype. A ♂ with labels: “ Espagne 602-42” [handwritten on a strip of white paper] “ Ctenodecticus pupulus ♂ Escorial” [handwritten on white paper]; “ Ctenodecticus pupulus Bol. Type! Escorial” [handwritten on pale blue paper]; “Possible syntype Hollier 2014” [handwritten on red paper]. The tarsi of the right front and middle legs, the last tarsal segment of the left hind leg and the claws of the right hind leg are lost. There are seven syntypes in the MNMS (Paris, 1994). Box K 6.
