DESCRIPTION. — Cells spherical or oblong, solitary or in group of 2-4 or sometimes 8 cells; pale green or homogeneous or granular; sheath lamellate, delimited rarely a little diffluent (Fig. 8A).

DIMENSION. — Cells 4.0-10.0 µm in diameter.

ENVIRONMENT & HABITAT. — Freshwater species; planktonic; temperature 1°C.
