Family Homocaligidae
Homocaligidae Wood, 1969: 712 . Type genus: Homocaligus Berlese, 1910, by original designation.
Wood (1969) described the chelicerae of Homocaligidae as being basally completely separated. The bases of chelicerae are actually conjunct to each other, similar to some genera of Stigmaeidae ( Caligohomus Habeeb, Cheylostigmaeus Willmann, Postumius Kuznetsov and Villersiella Willmann). He also described short peritremes arising laterally at the bases of chelicerae and ending above the first pair of coxae, and with ventral setae 3a absent. In fact, he misinterpreted the podocephalic canals as peritremes and 3a as 3b.
So far two genera are known worldwide: Annerosella and Homocaligus .
