Biology: The caterpillars inhabit dead wood and pore fungi and construct portable cases (Fig. 8). The larvae feed on dried fruits in houses and attack stale products in food stores (Zagulajev, 1964). They were found infesting mushrooms in Tianjin and Beijing and ice-mushrooms in Jilin province in our study.
Distribution: China (Beijing, Tianjin, Jilin, Shaanxi, Xinjiang), Kazakhstan, Russia (Siberia).
Diagnosis: This species is characterized by the forewing having a dark brown transverse band at about 2/ 5, slightly narrowed anteriorly; the valvae subrectangular in distal 2/5, the juxta with two small sclerotized arc-shaped structures ventrally and a subrectangular membranous structure dorsally, and the phallus bifurcated at distal 1/ 3 in the male genitalia (Fig. 10); the sternum VIII somewhat broadly M-shaped basally, and the antrum somewhat cup-shaped in the female genitalia (Fig. 17).
