Chrysofolia Crous & M.J. Wingf., Persoonia 34: 207 (2015)
Index Fungorum number: IF812450
Type species: Chrysofolia colombiana Crous, Rodas & M.J. Wingf., Persoonia 34: 207 (2015).
Notes: The genus Chrysofolia (Cryphonectriaceae) was established with the type species C. colombiana by Crous et al. (2015). The asexual morph of Chrysofolia is described by having pycnidial conidiomata, globose pycnidia with base immersed and long neck, exuding a colored slimy conidial mass, Conidiophores simple, unbranched, reduced to conidiogenous cells, hyaline conidia, with ellipsoid, straight to allantoid, apex obtuse, base with flattened hilum, while the sexual morph of this genus is unknown (Crous et al. 2015, Suwannarach et al. 2016). Currently, Chrysofolia has two species ( C. barringtoniae and C. colombiana) which were isolated from leaves of Barringtonia sp. and Eucalyptus sp. as endophytes and they are suspected plant pathogens (Crous et al. 2015, Suwannarach et al. 2016).
