Episcepsis coeruleocephala (Rothschild, 1912), comb. nov.

(Fig. 1E)

Heliura coeruleocephala Rothschild, 1912: 168 . Lectotype male, by subsequent designation (Hampson, 1914). PERU, Santo Domingo, Carabaya, 6,000 ft., June 1901 (G. Ockenden) (BMNH) [examined].

Eucereon coeruleocephala; Hampson, 1914: 317, pl. 18, fig. 6.

Heliura caeruleocephala [sic]; Draudt, 1915: 168, pl. 30, row e, misspelling.

Eucereon caeruleocephala [sic]; Draudt, 1917: 212, 213, misspelling.

Remarks. Episcepsis coeruleocephala comb. nov. was described from an undetermined number of males. Only one was found at the BMNH. To our knowledge, this species is known only from the lectotype, which is why it was not possible to dissect it. The closest described species is E. moloneyi, from which it differs externally in the forewing pattern: E. moloneyi does not have the veins well marked in a darker hue of brown as it happens in E. coeruleocephala comb. nov. On the other hand, the proximal area of hindwings is less marked in E. coeruleocephala comb. nov.
