Scarabadania tenuispina (Sevastianov, 1974) comb. nov.

Bakerdania tenuispina Sevastianov, 1974, p. 853, Figs 10-13.

Bakerdania uniseta Khaustov and Hajiqanbar, 2004: p. 109, Figs 1-6.

This species was described from soil in Ukraine (Sevastianov 1974). Later on, Khaustov & Hajiqanbar (2004) provided a detailed description of this species based on material from Iran and recorded phoresy on the scarab beetle Pleurophorus anatolicus Petrovitz.

This is the first record of this species from Africa and phoresy on beetles of the subfamily Orphninae .

Material examined. ALGERIA: 1 female on Hybalus cf. barbarus ( Laporte de Castelnau), Teniet-el-Haad [Theniet El Had], Desbeochers, 1889 .
