GENUS CARPOSINA HERRICH-SCHÄFFER, 1853

Carposina are typical of the Carposinidae with upturned or porrect labial palpi, often longer in the female, absence of chaemata and patches of raised scales on the dorsal surface of the forewing. In Carposina, male genitalia have uncus greatly reduced or absent, absence of socii and well-developed gnathos arms.
